Pain Au Chocolat Tearer Sharer

Our friends Henry and Ian at BOSH! have taken the pain au chocolat to the next level and created a giant vegan Pain Au Chocolate Tearer Sharer using our delicious large creamy choc NOMO bar.



  • 2 85g bar NOMO Creamy Choc
  • 1 sheet plant based puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp plant based butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup


  • Fresh Berries
  • Good coffee of your choice


PREP | Preheat oven to 200°C | Baking sheet lined with parchment | Small saucepan | Heat proof mixing bowl | Kettle boiled | Spatula | Pastry brush

Preparing the chocolate

  1. Heat up one 1.5 inches of water in a saucepan over high heat and place the mixing bowl on top
  2. Break the NOMO Creamy Choc into the bowl and stir gradually until melted
  3. Turn off the heat and leave to cool for a couple of minutes

Preparing the pastry

  1. Unroll the pastry on to the baking sheet
  2. Pour ¾’s of the chocolate onto the pastry sheet and use the angled spatula to spread the melted NOMO Creamy Choc evenly across the pastry
  3. Roll the Pain Au Chocolat Tearer Sharer
  4. Fold the long edge of the chocolate covered pastry into the middle by approx 2 finger widths
  5. Repeat with other side
  6. Now fold again inwards evenly on either side so the chocolate is completely covered
  7. Carefully flip the rolled pastry log over so the smooth bottom is facing upward and set to one side

Preparing the glaze

  1. Add the plant based butter and maple syrup to a small saucepan, warm over medium heat until melted and nicely incorporated
  2. Brush the Pain Au Chocolat Tearer Sharer with the glaze and gently score the top of the pastry evenly to mark out 6 equal pieces

Baking the Pain Au Chocolat Tearer Sharer

  1. Put the sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy

Finish and serve

  1. Transfer the Pain Au Chocolat Tearer Sharer to a serving board, reheat the remaining chocolate and use a spoon to drizzle over the top of the pastry in a decorative fashion
  2. Dust a little icing sugar over the top of the pastry, dress the board with some fresh berries
  3. Take the board to the dining table and tell your friends to rip, dip (in their milky coffee) and dig in!
