NOMO is owned and carefully made by Kinnerton Confectionery. We have been manufacturing great tasting Free From chocolate since 1999 (Nut Safe chocolates since 1999, Vegan and free from since 2005) and have built a reputation as a trusted and safe company that allergy and intolerance sufferers can rely on for uncompromisingly delicious chocolate. We wholeheartedly believe that everyone, no matter their dietary limitations, should be able to enjoy great tasting chocolate. This ethos is at the heart of what we do and what we develop at our factory in Norfolk, UK.
We all experience FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) at some stage in our lives but have you heard of NOMO (No Missing Out)? Imagine suddenly feeling included in an enjoyable experience or activity that everyone else is taking part in – for example eating delicious chocolate. Many people with specific dietary requirements commonly feel as though they have to miss out on delicious chocolate, and our vision is to make sure that no one has to miss out again!
The metalized film we use to keep our bars fresh cannot currently be recycled, however we are always looking for new and innovative eco-friendly packaging materials to make this a possibility in the future.

NOMO is not certified Fair Trade; however, we are committed to improving the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities. We buy Rainforest Alliance Certified™ cocoa through the ‘mass balance’ model of production. This allows us to buy more cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, which means that farmers, the environment, and cocoa-growing communities will benefit from our increasing purchases! A company can claim on product packaging that Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa is sourced for a particular brand if the volume of cocoa purchased by their supply chain from certified farms matches the volume of cocoa used in the manufacturing of that specific brand. This means that while certified cocoa might not end up in every chocolate bar because of certified and non-certified ingredients mixing at facility or the facilities of the company’s suppliers, the supply chain is still buying cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and including this ingredient in the overall manufacturing of its chocolate recipes.
The Rainforest Alliance works together with companies, farmers, foresters, communities, and consumers to amplify the voices of farmers and forest communities, improve livelihoods, protect biodiversity, and help people mitigate and adapt to climate change in bold and effective ways. Allergen management is one of the cornerstones of our brand values and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with reliable and consistent information about allergens in our products.
As a business we take allergens extremely seriously and everyone who works at Kinnerton has this at the forefront of their thinking. We go to extraordinary lengths to ensure that our NOMO products are safe and free-from the major allergens dairy, gluten, egg and nuts (tree nuts and peanuts).
This robust process starts at the very beginning with our suppliers, and we ensure all NOMO ingredients are free from dairy, gluten, egg, tree nuts and peanuts. Our factory in Norfolk, UK, has a specially segregated part of the factory to craft NOMO. The whole process is carefully managed by our operations and technical teams and is underpinned by detailed allergen management procedures.

No, NOMO is not currently certified organic.
These are a closely guarded secret unfortunately, however rest assured we only use natural flavourings for NOMO.
Inulin is a type of carbohydrate. It is found in many plants including dried chicory root, which is what we use in NOMO. Whilst it has a sweet taste and a creamy texture, it’s hard for us to digest making it a great source of fibre so it also has a prebiotic effect. All of this makes it a great substitute for milk in chocolate without adding more sugar or fat.
Emulsifiers keep ingredients from separating and provide a smooth texture in our NOMO choc bars
We cannot currently source a dairy, gluten, egg and nut free dark chocolate that is made without soya lecithin, but we are working on it! We will never stop trying to discover new ways to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the delicious indulgence of chocolate.
NOMO Deliciously Dark Chocolate does contain Soya, as we cannot currently source a dairy, gluten, egg and nut free dark chocolate that is made without Soya Lecithin, but we are working on this. Our NOMO Creamy Choc, Caramel & Sea Salt and Fruit & Crunch bars do not contain soya ingredients in the recipe and whilst we take every precaution to avoid cross contamination with Soya, please be aware we do not declare these products as ‘Soya Free’.
NOMO Caramel & Sea Salt and NOMO Fruit & Crunch bars are made with our delicious NOMO Creamy Choc recipe. Our NOMO Dark Chocolate is only available in 85g block.

This stringent allergen control policy ensures that NOMO products are free from dairy, gluten, egg & nuts (tree nuts & peanuts) and safe for all our customers to enjoy. With safety always at the forefront of our thinking, we are unable to let members of the public into the factory.

Our Creamy Choc bars (32g and 85g), Fruit & Crunch, Caramel & Sea Salt bars (38g) have a shelf life of 12 months from production. Our Dark Chocolate bar (85g) has a shelf life of 18 months from production. Plenty of time to make sure you never miss out!
NOMO is slightly more expensive than normal chocolate because of the extraordinary lengths we go to make sure our products are vegan and free-from dairy, gluten, egg and nuts. All of our delicious NOMO products are manufactured at our factory in Norfolk, UK in a specially segregated part of the factory. The whole process is carefully managed by our operations and technical teams and is underpinned by our detailed allergen management procedures.
Unfortunately we are unable to donate to individual events. As a business we give 1% of our profit every year to charities and causes which are close to our hearts. We also offer our employees one day per year of paid leave to support our corporate charity or a charity of their choice.
We knew that we wanted to develop and expand our range of free from chocolate, but in order to make this dream a reality, we had to invest more in the product development and ongoing manufacture of these delicious sweet treats that everyone can enjoy – and this is so important to us!
